While Expository preaching is crucial in teaching the Word of God, it is equally important to be an expository listener. This blog has been set up for those who have enjoyed listening to the sermons preached at Grace and Truth Church and want to go deeper in their learning and encouraging of others.

Easter Sunday Kickoff
Last Sunday we celebrated Easter Sunday at Grace and Truth and discussed the topic of "The Power of the Resurrection". Essentially we learned that Christ purchased for us a quality of life which is ours through faith. This life is eternal life, and life abundant. It is the resurrection life because it is life given to us by the Holy Spirit to live in a way that is honoring to God and to grow in sanctification. I am interested to hear from you all on how last weeks message inspired you and what points were challenging. Please fell free to post your comments and be engaged on a weekly basis.

After listening to last sunday's sermon I examined myself ...Seeing whether or not I was bearing any fruit and growing in the faith. It was a reminder that repentance is a lifestyle and when we do fall we have the cross of Christ to turn too. Not that we earn our salvation but that it is through faith that we are saved and through the power of the Holy Spirit that we are able to bear fruit and show genuine change in our lives.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Lee, and I would like to add, that the resurrection is something to look forward to after death of this carcass. It's amazing that the thing that sets Christ apart is the thing that sets all religions and faiths apart! Our hope in the resurrection is the hope of the SON, just as He was raised by the Father, so shall be with His heirs.
ReplyDeletePastor Bob, I love this idea of the blog and discussion of the sermons, it is truly beneficial for all of us!
